Getting Started
-
To get the most out of your initial visit, we recommend coming prepared by sending in a detailed list prior to your appointment of all current supplements and medications, including doses and brands. If available, please also send copies of recent lab work or imaging from the past 1–2 years. This information allows us to move more efficiently and make informed decisions sooner. If you’re unsure what to send or don’t have access to these records, we can review this together during your appointment. But a short follow up appointment may be required to review the documents at a later date.
-
The initial appointment is the longest and most comprehensive visit. During this time, we complete an in-depth intake of your current symptoms, health history, family history, and health goals. This appointment is essential for understanding what information we already have, what may still be needed, and how to best organize and prioritize your care.
Based on this visit, we may recommend further investigations, referrals, or begin treatment. We will also outline next steps, including the timing and type of follow-up appointments that will best support your care. This appointment sets the foundation for a personalized and well-structured treatment plan. -
Standard follow-ups are the most commonly booked appointment type. These visits focus on reviewing your overall progress, adjusting your treatment plan as needed, and reviewing lab work. For most patients, standard follow-ups will make up the majority of ongoing care after the initial appointment.
-
Focused follow-ups are designed to address a specific area of concern in greater depth. These appointments are recommended by your naturopathic doctor when a dedicated discussion on a particular topic would be especially beneficial. While other aspects of health may still be considered, the primary focus remains on one key issue. Most patients may book one or two focused follow-ups as needed, but will otherwise continue with standard follow-ups unless directed or specifically interested in a focused visit.
-
Mental health is one of the three core pillars of female health, alongside metabolic and menstrual health. It doesn’t exist in isolation — it influences how we eat, sleep, work, parent, manage stress, experience pain, and move through our daily lives.
-
Metabolic health is at the core of overall well-being, influencing everything from cardiovascular risk and diabetes prevention to weight management and hormonal balance. Many metabolic changes begin early in adulthood, but often go unnoticed until later in life, especially for women approaching menopause, when shifts in hormones can significantly impact metabolism.
-
Menstrual health is a fundamental part of women’s healthcare and influences far more than the timing of a period. While it includes specific gynecological diagnoses such as heavy or painful periods, endometriosis, PMS, PMDD, PCOS, and fertility concerns, my approach focuses on how a woman’s menstrual cycle feels and functions throughout different stages of her life.

HORMONE THERAPY
Dr. Nicole Roberts, ND, provides comprehensive, evidence-informed hormone therapy guidance for women navigating perimenopause and menopause. As a licensed naturopathic doctor in Ontario, she can prescribe certain aspects of menopausal hormone therapy, while collaborating closely with nurse practitioners for elements outside the naturopathic scope, including systemic estrogen therapy and vaginal estrogen therapy.
Every patient receives an in-depth assessment to determine if hormone therapy is right for them. We take the time to review all options, discuss risks and benefits, and ensure you feel confident and comfortable with your decisions. Hormone therapy is never one-size-fits-all — treatments are fully individualized to support your unique health goals, symptoms, and lifestyle.
