Focused Follow-Up Appointments

Focused follow-ups are designed to address a specific area of concern in greater depth. These appointments are recommended by your naturopathic doctor when a dedicated discussion on a particular topic would be especially beneficial. While other aspects of health may still be considered, the primary focus remains on one key issue. Most patients may book one or two focused follow-ups as needed, but will otherwise continue with standard follow-ups unless directed or specifically interested in a focused visit.

Important:
An initial appointment needs to be booked first. Dr. Nicole Roberts will direct you afterwards to what follow up to book based on your initial assessment.

  • This appointment focuses on optimizing body composition and long-term strength as your metabolism changes over time. Rather than centering solely on weight loss, the emphasis is on building and preserving lean muscle, supporting bone health, maintaining a cardiovascularly healthy waist circumference, and feeling strong and empowered in your body.
We discuss movement, fueling, and lifestyle strategies that feel sustainable and enjoyable, while addressing barriers that may be holding you back. This visit is especially valuable for women preparing for or moving through perimenopause and menopause, as well as those using or considering GLP-1 medications (such as Ozempic or Mounjaro), to ensure muscle, strength, and healthy habits are preserved alongside metabolic changes.

    Who this is for:

    • Women noticing changes in strength, muscle tone, or body composition

    • Those wanting to prevent osteopenia or osteoporosis

    • Patients preparing for or moving through perimenopause or menopause

    • Individuals using or considering GLP-1 medications (e.g., Ozempic, Mounjaro)

    • Anyone wanting a sustainable, strength-focused approach to metabolic health

  • This appointment is dedicated to the prevention and management of insulin resistance, high cholesterol, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular risk. It is ideal for patients noticing early changes in blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, or abdominal weight, or those with a family history of cardiometabolic disease.
With a strong focus on the hormonal shifts of perimenopause and menopause, we work proactively to understand individual risk factors and create a streamlined, sustainable plan that supports long-term cardiovascular health. The goal is to intervene early, reduce future medication needs where possible, and help you feel confident and supported as your metabolic landscape evolves.

    Who this is for:

    • Patients with insulin resistance, elevated cholesterol, or metabolic syndrome

    • Those noticing changes in blood sugar, blood pressure, or abdominal weight

    • Individuals with a family history of cardiovascular disease or diabetes

  • This appointment provides a comprehensive, individualized review of hormone therapy. We discuss what hormone therapy is, the different options available, who may benefit, potential risks and side effects, expected timelines for improvement, and how long therapy may be appropriate.
Your personal health history, symptoms, family history, and risk factors are reviewed in detail to determine whether hormone therapy is a suitable option for you. When appropriate, prescriptions and referrals may be initiated. This visit is designed to ensure you feel informed, confident, and supported in making decisions about hormone therapy that are tailored specifically to your body and health goals.

    Who this is for:

    • Women experiencing perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms

    • Patients considering or already using hormone therapy

  • This appointment focuses on protecting and optimizing cognitive health across the lifespan, particularly through the perimenopause and postmenopausal years when changes in brain function can occur. Using evidence-based strategies, we address brain health proactively rather than waiting for noticeable cognitive decline.
This visit is well suited for patients interested in long-term cognitive prevention, those with genetic risk factors such as APOE4, or anyone wanting to take a proactive role in their brain health. Cognitive health is discussed in the context of cardiovascular health, metabolic markers, and hormone therapy, with the goal of helping you feel informed, empowered, and in control of your cognitive future.
